Boxcar, one of our favorite apps for improving the iPhone's crappy notification system, is available for Mac OS X in beta.
The app can link to just about any social media or news service you can think of: Twitter, email, Facebook, RSS feeds, Google, and Foursquare, just to name a few.
If you already have an account, Boxcar will sync with it once you download the app and log in. If not, you can set up a new account and add as many feeds as you want.
The app lives in the top right of your screen, and features a simple drop down menu with all your notifications.
And since everything is in one place, you don't have to worry about checking multiple websites or apps to find out what's new.
