Finding a strapless bra that stays put — and provides adequate support — can feel like an impossible feat. When they aren't sliding down your chest, they're digging into your ribs or creating unsightly gaps at the top of the cups. It's enough to make anyone swear off strapless bras altogether — except that would also mean forfeiting all those cute off-the-shoulder tops and bandeau dresses. So, to find the best strapless bras for all bust sizes, needs, and preferences, I tested a multitude of options. I even did 15 jumping jacks in them to see how they'd hold up.

The best bras have a few things in common: they're made with more durable materials, have special features to provide support and staying power, and of course, are comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. We're particularly impressed with ThirdLove's super-popular 24/7 Classic Strapless Bra that holds up incredibly well against movement and sweat.  From lightly-lined and bandeau styles to more structured options with underwire and contoured cups, here are some strapless bras that fit the bill.

Our top picks for strapless bras

With side boning, no-slip grip along the top of the cups and the bottom of the band, and a flexible underwire, this strapless bra has every feature imaginable to help it stay put. To that end, this bra didn't budge one bit after 15 jumping jacks.

The thin but supportive memory foam cups offered more lift and shaping than many other strapless bras I've tried. And I don't have to worry about any unsightly lines or seams thanks to the smoothing double-layer back.

As a bonus, this one comes with not one, but two detachable strap options — a clear/transparent set, and a set in the same color as the bra.

Nina Vargas, a stylist and bra fitting expert, calls this her go-to budget-friendly strapless bra for several reasons. First, she says the lightly lined underwire cups all offer some subtle shaping and coverage without having a potentially unwanted push-up effect.

"It stays secure, it gives me shape, it's affordable, and it's all around amazing," she says. "I highly recommend it."

This bra comes in several different "nude" shades to match different skin tones, and it also features side boning for extra staying power. Since it comes with detachable straps, it can accommodate a wide variety of styles from one-shoulder to halter and racerback.

Best plunge

Lace details make this plunge bra stand out while the non-slip grip and side boning ensure it stays put.

What we don't like

Most strapless bras are built for practicality — not necessarily to look pretty. Somehow this bra accomplishes both, featuring supportive underwire cups with silicone non-slip grip and side boning, as well as gorgeous scalloped lace detailing. Thanks to the angled cups and deep V gore, you can wear this one under all your low-cut tops and dresses. The smooth cups also make this bra suitable for wearing under thinner knit tops, and the removable and convertible straps add to its versatility.

Following 15 jumping jacks, this one still covered me but definitely slid down a bit. Truthfully, though, I suspect the sliding is due to the fact that it didn't fit perfectly, and I probably needed a tighter band.

Best bandeau

Due to the double-layered fabric and four-way stretch, this bra offers decent coverage and a snug fit.

While this seamless bandeau isn't lined, it is made with a double layer of buttery soft fabric for extra coverage, and the four-way stretch offers plenty of flexibility. It's rare to feel both comfortable and supported in a wireless strapless bra, but I'd say this product checks both boxes.

As with most bandeau bras, this one comes in XS-XXL sizing, but I appreciate that they also offer a DD cup option for sizes S-L for us larger-busted folks. It also comes in five colors, from neutral shades to match your skin tone to a fun Barbie pink.

I fully expected this bandeau bra to fall after 15 jumping jacks, because it doesn't have any silicone grip, underwire, or boning to help keep it up. While it did slip a tiny bit, it actually held up even better than some of the traditional strapless bras with cups — maybe because it's lighter weight, and fits more snugly.

Best lightly lined

This ultra-stretchy bra — which features eye-catching lace trim — can accommodate any low-cut style.

What we don't like

This strapless bra proves you really can have it all: stunning lace wings and edging, as well as comfy molded cups that provide ample support. It also has a remarkably stretchy band that doesn't restrict my movement or breathing despite fitting snugly against my torso.

The plunging neckline and multi-way detachable straps make this bra surprisingly versatile, and the silicone trims along the top of the band help to prevent pesky slippage.

My only gripe with this bra is that the cups seem to run slightly small — I did notice a tiny bit of spillage along the top that could probably have been solved by sizing up in the cup and down in the band.

After 15 jumping jacks, it only slipped downward a minimal amount.

The only thing harder than finding a strapless bra is finding a strapless bra for larger cup sizes. Our large-busted testers love that this bra stays secure and that the underwire doesn't dig in.

What we don't like

As someone who wears a DD cup, I had nearly given up on finding a bra that could support me sans straps — until I found this one. This construction of this bra boasts multiple features that full-busted people are bound to appreciate. Between the medical-grade silicone strips on both edges of the band and the cups, the multiple side boning panels, and the full-coverage foam cups that mold to my bust, it feels super secure and supportive. In fact, it didn't budge whatsoever after 15 jumping jacks.

Any pro bra fitter will tell you that the band on a strapless bra needs to fit as snugly as possible in order to keep the bra in place. But sometimes strapless styles — especially underwire ones — dig into the skin of my ribcage, which is obviously not fun. This one didn't do that, thanks to the comfy cushioning lining the bottom of the band. It fit like a second skin, and yet thanks to the pinch of spandex, it stretched with me as I breathed and moved.

Vargas often recommends Lulalu bras for smaller-busted folks since they have a wide variety of styles to choose from in A, AA, and AA cups. This particular strapless style has garnered hundreds of five-star rave reviews, with numerous customers stating that it's extremely comfortable and doesn't slide around on them.

"The material is microfiber and also features a mesh band so it's flexible, breathable, and comfortable, but doesn't move," she says. "It's the best of both worlds."

Vargas notes that the AAA cup-size bras come with a removable cookie, so you can adjust the padding according to your preferences. The AA and A cup sizes, meanwhile come with a slight bump pad for A and AA sizes.

One major advantage to this bra is the tagless, ultra-plush hook and eye closures that won't scratch, irritate, or dig into your skin. It also features side boning for extra support and detachable straps for maximum versatility.

Looking for something that won't show even under your most skin-baring tops and dresses? Okko Reusable Nipple Covers get an honorable mention from Kate Sisk, lingerie expert and founder of Hidden Intimates. While they aren't technically a strapless bra and don't provide much in the way of support, they're perfect for small-busted people and reusable up to 30 wears.

Best wireless

What we don't like

con icon Two crossed lines that form an 'X'. Higher center gore
con icon Two crossed lines that form an 'X'. No silicone non-slip grip

I'm always skeptical that a wireless bra can lend adequate support, but this one proved me wrong. One major perk is that the band features four different columns of hook-and-eye closures (as opposed to the typical three) which make it easier to adjust — and achieve a flawless fit.

The fully lined contour cups provide ample coverage and subtle shaping, and the hint of spandex lends the perfect amount of stretch for the sake of comfort. Thanks to the velvety soft brushed fabric, this bra is also smooth enough to wear under your best white T-shirts. The only downside I can find is that the center panel of the bra is a bit taller, meaning this isn't the best bra option for plunging or even deep-V necklines.

This bra did fall about half an inch after my jumping jack test, but IMO, that's not too bad considering it doesn't have any underwire or silicone non-slip grip.

What we don't like

Thanks to the ultra-smooth fabric that's loaded with stretch and flexible underwire that moves with me,  this is by far the most comfortable strapless bra I've ever worn. I honestly forgot I was even wearing a bra after a while. I like that the cups have just enough padding for coverage without adding a ton of bulk, and the no-slip grip on the top edge of the band is definitely helpful for keeping the bra in place. It also boasts four rows of hook-and-eye closures, which translates to a more secure and supportive band.

After 15 jumping jacks, the bra only slid down maybe an eighth of an inch, which is pretty impressive.

Best plus size

This strapless bra comes in a wide range of sizes, but that's not the only reason why Vargas recommends it. Firstly, it features silicone lining along the top edges of the cups as well as the wings to ensure that the bra stays put. Not only that, but Vargas notes that the foam-lined contoured cups, which feature push-up pads, simultaneously lift and shape while the built-in side boning offers some added support. And reviewers say it's surprisingly comfortable, due in part to the cushioned lower band and silky smooth microfiber cups.

Also worth mentioning? The bra comes with four detachable straps — a set of same-color straps plus one clear and one same color halter strap.
