Someone who apparently has money to spare just paid $16,450 (including buyers' premium) for a set of yellow curtains that were once owned by Patricia Kluge, ex-wife of billionaire media mogul John Kluge.
The curtains, which once hung in Kluge's former estate in Virginia, were expected to sell for somewhere between $600 and $800.
About 100 other items from the Kluge estate also sold at the auction this weekend. They included a set of shotguns given to Patricia by the King of Spain, which sold for $31,000, according to a spokesperson for Potomack Co., which ran the auction.
Kluge made headlines last year when she was forced to cut the price tag on her Virginia home, known as Albermarle, by an incredible $76 million.
Donald Trump picked up the property's vineyard and winery for $6.2 million in April.
